We no longer present Karl Lagerfeld, and yet this icon of world culture has cultivated a share of mystery. Who has been hiding behind the dark glasses?

Couturier for Chanel, Fendi and for his own brand, designer, creator, photographer, collector and publisher, he embodied for many the French style.

Born near Hamburg, child of the war, arrived in France in the 1950s, Lagerfeld had a life like no other: the Warhol years, then the Palace years, before becoming in 1983 the successor            and, in his way, the founder of the Coco Chanel myth. He was the last to hold the profession of great couturier between his fingers, he was the last fashion emperor.

Lagerfeld has done creation for all environments, on all medias. He was a touch to everything. No wonder then, that one of the last projects paying homage to him was initiated by Jean Roch, artist, and Sebastien Jondeau, his trusted man who accompanied his days. Born from his passion for this mythical character and his love for contemporary art, Jean-Roch proposed this project to Sebastien for the first time in 2015. The idea behind ​​creating a pop and iconic work, was a self-portrait for the timeless limited-edition Bearbrick silhouette which spontaneously seduced Karl.

A master in artistic creation and king of fashion, the man who spent his whole life making his figure immortal plays with that of the cultural work of Japanese Medicom Toy: white beard, sunglasses. in April 2018 Karl validated the first sketch of this limited and collector's creation, leaving with him a work made posthumous as a representation of his last years. An affectionate wink, as if to remind you that his whole life has been like the BearBrick - a fun and aesthetic adult game.
